Bake Sale, Bake Sale, Eat & Read All About It!

Hi Everyone,

I'm back to give you a quick update on what Honeysuckle Catering has been up to! It's been a few short weeks since we wrapped up filming (there will be more videos soon to come!), but we have been keep very busy. More and more, I've been inspired to perfect my baking skills and to think outside of the box, so I decided to bake... ALOT. Get ready, because here goes everything we've been up to:

Baby Shower:

My good friend Charise recently had a baby shower for her son who is due to arrive in less than a month! We are so excited to meet little Thomas. Since Charise's husband is a bonafide chocaholic, they requested chocolate cupcakes. I decided to make them a dark chocolate cupcakes with blue buttercream frosting! We also threw in a chocolate chip and dark chocolate platter to accompany those little cupcakes. Now the funny thing is, Charise is not a huge fan of frosting, though she told me that she couldn't stop eating them. They were not too sweet and had the perfect frosting to cupcake ratio. I took that as a great compliment! Check out how they turned out!

Bake Sale:

What started out as a way to spread the word out to the community about our Catering company turned into a fundraiser for local ministry, http://www.bayshore.org/ . We were so inspired by what the ministry's goals and touched by what the students had to say that we wanted to support their efforts through our bake sale.

I had been browsing through various websites to get ideas and came across an amazing blog by http://www.bakerella.com/ that showed us how to make these little cupcake burgers and cookie fries. They were such a hit!! Nate also made his family's secret recipe chocolate chip cookies that we packaged perfectly. Finally, we also made these cupcake lollipops that were so adorable, they're sure to become a party favor favorite. These little treats took long hours to put together, but the final products were soooo adorable and yummie, they were completely worth the effort.  (Everything listed today is available through Honeysuckle Catering if you need it for your next baby shower or kid's birthday party! ;P)

Garden Party:

Okay so this was something I've always wanted to do, and what better way to celebrate my birthday than to do a Garden Party! I was able to share my special day with friends and family with some of my favorite foods! I made strawberry cupcakes, cucumber tea sandwiches, bruschetta, potato salad, roasted pork loin, and pesto pasta salad! These dishes were also accompanied by a delicious Berry Spinach Salad that Maly made and little cookie cups that Nate created. It was the perfect day for the perfect birthday party.

Talk to you later!

spaghetti o meatballs!

Here is a special bonus episode from Honeysuckle to you! We filmed this with our special mini chef Natalie awhile ago, but saved it for a different time. What better way to have this meal than during a chilly fall day? The meatballs with the thick sauce screams comfort food. In celebrating the first rain of the season, I made the same dinner last night with my new handy dandy dutch oven and it was absolutely delicious. Hope you enjoy this! :)

Anthropologie Fall Preview Fashion Show

And so my partnership begins with my all time favorite store - Anthropologie! I was delighted to work with the Palo Alto crew in creating the menu for a 150 guest count for their fall preview fashion show.

Since the event was low key and the store requested simple food that would pair well with wine from the local vendor - Cameron Hughes, I decided to do create 4 refreshing dishes:

The event was a great success and I was able to meet so many different local entrepreneurs, from boutique salon owners to personal stylists. I will be having another event with Anthropologie to support the Stanford Hospital in the next month, so stay tuned for more information! I'm so excited for the opportunity to work with such a unique and creative company and am looking forward to plenty more! And because I am a loyal customer and a walking catalog for them, i must tell you to go check out the new fall items... the september catalog is out!!! :D

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake, SSSooo GoooooD!

Here is the tenth episode of Honeysuckle Catering webisode! I can't
believe we're already at the last episode for the summer. It's been so
much fun sharing the joy of cooking with y'all! This is by far my
favorite episode thus far with my mini sous chef, Natalie. She is
going to grow up to be a cooking rockstar!

Hope you enjoy this video! ...

And again, if you know anyone that is in need of some catering
services, be sure to point them my way. :)

Spice Rubbed Pork Roast with Balsamic Onions ... and baby potatoes!

My recent catering adventure at Emily's Gatsby Bash (Happy Birthday Emily!!) Everybody gave me rave reviews for the apricot glaced pork loin, which inspired this episode, so i thought i'd spice it up a bit and try something different! This episode was also special because it gave us a great excuse to celebrate Justin, Tria, and Oliver's new home. I was lucky enough to film in such a fantastically vintage kitchen, where they still used buttons to turn on the stove!!!!!! Check out this fantastic feast with my friends, and thanks to gem photo for the food photography.

Also, there will only be ONE episode of honeysuckle catering left for the summer. Stay tuned to see who our special guest(s) will be! :)

Oui Oui It's Chicken Fricassee!!

Welcome to another episode of Honeysuckle Catering! This week I will be taking you on a journey to make the classic french dish - chicken fricassee with a southern twist! You can serve this dish with some buttered egg noodles or with a baguette to really soak up the sauce. It's perfect to take with you on a picnic, or to have at a dinner party! Your friends and family will definitely enjoy this hearty dish. :)

When the moon hits your eye like a lil pizzette pie!

Welcome to another episode of Honeysuckle Catering! In this video, we will be making pizzettes! Last week, I prepared my first official menu and decided that it would be a good idea to make some items on the menu to show everyone an example of what they can order for their party! These are two of my favorite pizzettes - 1) three cheeses with shaved broccoli, carmelized onions, and bacon 2) spicy sausage with portobello mushrooms and goat cheese. Simple and delicious. Now that's amore!
